Time & Location

Apr 27, 2026, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

West End United Methodist Church, 2200 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203, USA

About the Event

This advanced training session is for participants who have some experience in de-escalation and are looking to hone their skills and experiment with new techniques. This training will give an overview of the core principles of trauma-informed de-escalation and will offer a highly interactive environment. Participants will practice active listening skills for times of crisis, open body language, mirroring, different intervention strategies, and action focused on safety. As we work through different scenarios, we’ll also discuss tools for self-regulation. This training is grounded in evidence based practices like Trauma-Informed Care and an anti-oppression framework.

Even though this session is advanced, beginners are welcome! If you haven't completed OTN's Trauma-Informed De-Escalation training in the past, you'll be asked to read through our Guide to De-Escalation, which will be emailed to all participants who RSVP.  If payment is a barrier for you, please reach out to us at education@opentablenashville.org!
